As a memorial to Karen, year 2 pupils worked with OASES outdoor company to build a living willow dome on the top of the hill outside of their classroom.
Y3 led Worship
Parents came to school to enjoy our year 3 pupils worship focused on Christmas.
NSPCC Carol Service
Members of the school choir gave their Saturday morning up to represent the school in the annual NSPCC Carol concert at Durham Cathedral.
Durham Live Nativity
Pupils from the school enjoyed the opportunity to preform in the live nativity in Durham city centre.
Remembrance
Our Year 6 children sold poppies in Durham and around school, with all money going to the British Legion. This was in preparation for their Remembrance Worship on Friday 9th November.
Green team
Our green team, led by Mrs Stoker, welcomed environment scientists from Crete who helped them build their knowledge of the effect of energy wastage and carbon emitions.
Harvest Festival
Friday 12th October was our Harvest Festival in school. We managed to squeeze 450 pupils and staff in to the hall, along with a huge collection of food and donations to the People’s Kitchen.
Y6 at Beamish Museum
Our Year 6 children visited Beamish Museum on Monday to learn about life as an evacuee during World War 2.
People’s Kitchen visit
On Tuesday, 8 year five pupils visited the People’s Kitchen in Newcastle, in preparation for their worship to parents on Friday 19th October.
Bishop Eraste Bigirimana
On Thursday, we were honoured to be visited by the Bishop of Burundi.
