Y6 at Beamish Museum

15th February 2019 By Admin Linda

Our Year 6 children visited Beamish Museum on Monday to learn about life as an evacuee during World War 2.

They were evacuated to Home Farm, where the windows had been blacked out! They donned gas masks, baked carrot cookies, dressed up as evacuees and wrote postcards home to their families. They even had to carry out a home guard drill. A really informative and engaging day was had by all.
