Welcome to St. Margaret's Church of England Primary School
St. Margaret’s Primary School is a Church of England Controlled School, situated in a very pleasant environment on the western edge of Durham City. Children are happy to come to school and are well cared for in safe and secure surroundings. The school has a long history dating back to 1861. The current buildings were opened in the mid 1970s.
We have high expectations in both academic work and behaviour and every child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. In addition to the National Curriculum we provide many other Extra Curriculum experiences and opportunities for the children in order to ensure that they receive a broad and balanced education.
Making a major decision about your child's education can be a daunting experience. To help make that decision easier for you as a parent we have collated all the relevant information in our School Brochure.
Parents who already have children at our school can also find lots of useful information in the Parent Info area of our website.

Pupil Talents and World Travel Information
For the coming years, we would like to show case the talents of pupils in our school. A dedicated display has been created in the main entrance to show what a fantastic range of talents our pupils possess.
Also, as we are such a culturally diverse school, we have another display in the main entrance showing the range of countries which our pupils and their families originate from, and also the wide range of countries they visit for holidays or other reasons.
You can download the form below which contains instructions about what to do, including adding a photograph and writing a short report. These can then be returned to school in person or by email for us to print. If you are going on a holiday and your child wishes to add a report, please don't forget to ask at the office so that 'Margaret' the bear can come with you for the photoshoot! Don't worry if you don't take Margaret though, she won't get too upset!
